the night before election day, Barack Obama came to Virginia and spoke at a rally in Manassas for over 80,000 people.
i was one of those people.

i never thought myself to be a fire junkie.  yet there i was, standing in the cold night wearing a shirt, sweatpants and slippers, armed with my camera and working by fire-truck-light.  yes, mom, i ran inside to grab a coat, real shoes and some gloves after about 25 minutes or so.  the excitement time [...]
